I discovered this restaurant on our last stay in NYC and wanted to go back again to enjoy their fantastic Wine Dinner. This basically means that after 8pm you can order any starter, main and dessert from their normal menu and you can have unlimited pours from selected wines all for $79 (plus tips). Its probably one of the best deals in NYC especially as their Filet Mignon (my preferred cut) is $48.
Hubby and I went on a Friday evening and it was surprisingly quiet. We had a great table in the middle of the dining room so we had plenty of space and were also not hidden away waiting for our glasses to be re-filled!!
I had a glass of prosecco whilst making my selection of starters. I opted for six oysters to start while hubby had a monster salad. We enjoyed these with a Stags Leap Chardonnay.
For the main course we both had the filet mignon, and shared a side portion of fries. Both steaks arrived hot and cooked perfectly, the fries were enough for a small family to share.
Along side the steaks we had a delicious Bordeaux.
Dessert was wood oven apple tart for the hubby - which was apparently delicious, and ice cream for me. This is an amazing deal at a lovely restaurant of you are hungry. You have to be able to eat all three courses for it to make sense, and of course be able to drink at least one glass of wine... for us that is never a problem. We will go back here again as it actually turns out to be a relatively in-expensive evening for oysters, steak and red wine.
